The hotel building dates back to a time before the construction of the Mezquita began. In fact, the so-called Alarifes, the builders of the Mezquita, used to reside in what is today the hotel. It is also worth mentioning that famous Christopher Columbus, during his stay in Cordoba, lived in what is today room number 204. The hotel, as you find it today, opened in March 2007 after extensive restoration.
